Ummmah..!
Whether you believe or not in God, after 9 months of pregnancy you will start believing. You'll start believing in miracles too. I still don't get the point how something is growing inside me. This is what they say as Motherhood. You wont believe i have penned down each and every detail and reading and measurements of my LO's journey in my book. #Proud#
Im all set and now counting days to give birth to a baby and i have these thousands of thoughts lingering in my head. Some anxious ones, some happy ones and some worried ones. I keep sayin All iz well :) All will be well!!
Life changes with a life growing inside you. Its surprise to you and family. So you are thinking of ways to spread the news and not to forget whom all to tell as well. The first 3 months are set of mixed emotions because it involves breaking the news to hubby n family and their reactions and frantically looking for a good doc and google-searching about dos and dont's. Me being away from hubby didn't give me much room to use innovative ideas to tell hubby. I called him 8 times to tell this but he was bathing and hence didn't answer. Once he answered the call, i blasted him and conveyed this to him. I was a lil paranoid too. He was just too shocked for a second but some how understood my tone and calmed me down. I sent the pic of the test to my parents and was waiting for their reply. Apparently mom woke up late that day and she didn't see her cell at all. I called her and told her to see watsapp. He he! She n dad were first like whats the heck are these pics and then they both sort of shouted. Yay!! The days hence forth were lil hectic for me as we were in two different states. This boy really brought us together and i cant thank him enough for that.
First 3 months are most crucial. Few food restrictions. No papaya, pineapple. Behold!! 2 weeks back i had few pieces of pineapple. I freaked :) Then me and my friend were like anything too much is bad. 2 pieces isn't an issue. Mil said no brinjal/egg plant as well. Few other things i reduced were coffee, tea, potato. Stopped chinese food suspecting they restaurants use MSG in everything.
Most importantly i started pre-natals & downloaded 3 apps and there my journey started. I started reading the daily and weekly growth of my baby. I got my actual gynec appt at 8 weeks so was forced to shut mouth till then. Meanwhile in 6th week my pcp confirmed that i was pregnant. I was a lil sore n tired. Its basically all your laziness will double. Since you still dont have a tummy to prove you will start doubting and questioning. But all is normal. Infact first trimester is most important and max care should be taken. I was actually going to bikram yoga before pregnancy and mom was like you have enough strain becoz of work and house-shifting so try not to go during first trimester. Why i chose not to go is because the hot air inside the class was sort of suffocating me. I constantly needed fresh-air breaks. So i stopped it. I was all enjoying puking early morning and going to work. Bahh!! I lost like 7 pounds and was actually sad about it. People are constantly asking about my weight loss and i was like "I'm a preggie for gods sake" :)
Ppl say 2nd trimester is a honey moon period and trust me its so so true. At 4.5 months my nausea decreased and i had this india trip for 2 baby showers. It was heaven. I was all happy n gay :). I had no sensation of my baby yet. I somehow wanted him to kick while i was in india itself so that my parents n friends could feel it. But looo a week after we returned to US he kicked. (The kicks can be felt at about 22 weeks plus :) and we learnt that it was a "He".) It was 2 am in the night n i was like what on earth was that n woke up. All nice nice stuff! I would do some stretches now and then and sometimes go for a walk with hubby. I continued my schedule as is and planned to start walking once the suns out. Here any day, the docs suggest walking over any other exercise. My husband actually wanted me to do some water aerobics but with this phobia i have for H2O his desire didn't materialize. Both the baby showers went very well. Since it was 5th month ppl couldnt believe i was pregnant. You see i didn't have much tummy yet. The reason being my moms genes or that i was already a person with huge tummy n hence nothing much left to show yet :P or watever! i was just shunning everyone and indirectly saying mind your own business. My doc says i'm all fine. Every visit my weight, urine, baby's heart beat and uterus size were checked. My gestational diabetes test came negative and was happy. His # of kicks and heartbeat were all fine. So i was fine.
3rd trimester is all about a growing tummy. I was in love with my pregnant body. Being a plus figure alwez, i wasn't used to "You look perfect", "How do you maintain", "how are you even doing this?", "How are you this active". I loved my baby for this :P What i didn't like was nausea returned!! twice a week i was puking again. I was still normal and doing things in Shruz style only till i carried and played excessively with a frens daughter at a bhajan. That night i had shooting pain in my left butt and i couldn't walk. Tried hot and cold pack and hubby massaged. Still no help. Went to work like a limping beauty! I hated that phase, i hated the fact that i couldn't do anything in shruz style and pace. Doc said it might be sciatic nerve pain and it may/would last till birth. Mom was like its a sprain. Moms are right after all. I took pretty good care and pain was off in a week and i started my walk. Entire third trimester i walked a mile 5 days a week for sure. I was trying for normal delivery and had to do this. During this walk i learnt hanuman chalisa and made phone calls to frens and relatives. Another proud thing is i cooked every day and packed our dabba's without fail. So many colleagues and friends and my relatives appreciated me for that. 7th & 8th month i enjoyed photo shoots with hubby. He has done a fab job with the pictures. You should actually see it here: 7th month pics & 8th month pics. Tummy size became huge and i had put on 18 pounds by now, but i was still hearing people say it was too small. Doc confirmed that hez a pretty big baby checking the size of uterus. Baby had positioned well at the right time too. Parents were supposed to come early 9th month and due to an emergency dad was unwell and they delayed by 15 days. I was devastated. Was completely low and crying and MM handled me very well. I was worried how i'll handle baby iff it happens!! But something told me everythings happening for good and my baby will understand me and things will be fine. With docs permission went to NJ and had my 3rd baby shower there. Avva made nippatlu for me. Really sweet of her.
Then parents came and a week later my son was born. It was a normal delivery (though the doc opted for c-sec). Hubby was with me all through my 2 days of 6 minute contraction pains, 8 hrs in the triage, 8 hrs in the labour room and lastly 3 hrs of labour. (Very sweet and brave of him! Didn't expect him to do this for me.) At 1:11am on a Thursday a 21 inch, 7.2 pounds boy was in my arms. He was lovely. Me and hubby cried so much. I couldn't believe something so wonderful came out of me. God is really great!! My book has the details of my labor as well. Its a wonderful story which only MM knows.
Thanks God for everything! He is your lil' one before he became mine, please take care of him well!!
